## The story

Alien: Romulus, the 2024 return to the franchise, contains four deleted scenes totaling about 11 minutes that were cut before its theatrical release. The film, directed by Fede Álvarez, is praised for its relentless sci‑fi horror and Xenomorph terror, yet the removed footage offers a deeper look at the story. The top‑ranked cut is an alternate lab dialogue that removes Prometheus‑era references, tightening the plot and giving the Z‑01 compound a clearer purpose. A second‑place scene extends a Facehugger hallway sequence, adding suspense with a dormant creature and a cameo by the director. A third‑place cut shows the first contact with the Xenomorph hive, revealing Kay’s entrapment and Rain’s panic, which would have highlighted the aliens’ aggression. The lowest‑ranked cut is an alternate death for Bjorn, which feels less brutal than the original, making the theatrical version more effective. Together, these scenes illustrate why the film’s final cut felt both polished and, for some, slightly lacking in depth.
