## The story

Comcast has contributed $7.5 million toward the construction of a new ballroom at the White House, according to a Washington Post investigation. The donation falls far short of the $25 million each from tech giants Nvidia and Apple, which are among the largest donors listed. Other major contributors include the Adelson Family Foundation, the Charlie Ergen household, and a donro advised fund, each giving $25 million. Google’s settlement of Trump’s lawsuit over a suspended YouTube account supplied $22 million, while the Laura and Isaac Perlmutter Foundation added $20.27 million. Amazon’s $5 million contribution is the only other media company donation above the $100,000 threshold. Total contributions to the ballroom project have reached nearly $330 million, though the final cost remains uncertain, with estimates ranging up to $500 million. A federal judge halted construction earlier this year, pending congressional approval, but the Supreme Court has allowed the project to proceed through lower courts. Construction is already underway, with the framing of the new structure visible on the White House grounds, signaling the project’s rapid advancement.
