## The story

A wrong turn guided by GPS led an Alabama driver to save a family of 14 from a burning house in northwest Georgia. James Burke, his wife Larita, their 11 children, and an infant grandchild were asleep on Saturday night when flames broke out at their home near Lyerly along Highway 114.

A motorist identified only as Casey was traveling home with his son when navigation errors diverted him down the unfamiliar road. Upon spotting flames rising from a crest on the hill, Casey stopped his vehicle, entered the residence, and alerted the sleeping occupants. He assisted in evacuating the 12 children from the burning structure and helped summon emergency responders.

All 14 family members escaped unharmed, though the blaze destroyed their home and personal belongings. Following the escape, local residents initiated an outpouring of support to assist the displaced family, while officials continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
