## The story

Multiple secondary school students in Nigeria's Ogun State were hospitalised on Wednesday morning following an underground methane gas emission. The leak affected pupils attending Anglican Girls Grammar School and nearby institutions in the area. Environmental protection officials linked the episode to underground gas activity first identified in earlier months. Authorities confirmed that preliminary investigations point to geological fault lines rather than pipeline damage or industrial sabotage.
