## The story

The Dallas Cowboys fell to a 0‑4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers squad, a defeat that sparked immediate speculation about owner‑general manager Jerry Jones’s future. Jones, 83, was seen leaving his suite before the final whistle, a moment that went viral on X and fueled calls for his resignation. Fans and commentators pointed to the loss as evidence that the franchise needs a new front‑office direction. In response, Jones clarified that he has no formal succession plan and intends to remain in charge as long as he can. The Cowboys, who won three Super Bowls in the 1990s, have struggled this season and are now 0‑4. The incident has reignited a broader debate about the team’s leadership and long‑term strategy. Jones’s comments suggest he will not step down unless physically unable to perform his duties. The situation remains fluid, with no official announcement of a change in management yet. The team’s next game will be a key test of whether the current leadership can reverse the early season slump.
