## The story

Italian football returns to free-to-air television in the United Kingdom tonight as BBC2 broadcasts the Derby della Madonnina. The high-stakes match between AC Milan and Inter Milan will be held at the iconic Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

This broadcast marks a significant return to terrestrial coverage for Serie A fans, reminiscent of the league's popularity on Channel 4 during the 1990s. Presenter James Richardson will lead the coverage, maintaining his traditional style involving newspapers and gelato.

The match takes place at the San Siro, which recently celebrated its centenary. This fixture also serves as one of the final opportunities to see the stadium's historic architecture before it is scheduled for demolition and replacement in 2032.
