After Fox canceled Lucifer in 2018, the fan‑led #SaveLucifer campaign prompted Netflix to pick up the series for a fourth season. Netflix then added a fifth season in 2019 and, in 2020, announced a sixth and final season, making the show the first fantasy series to be revived twice by a streaming platform. Tom Ellis, who portrayed Lucifer, has also appeared in other projects such as CIA, Miranda, and The Thursday Murder Club, but the series remains his most notable role.
