China has shipped an 80‑tonne cargo of generators, water‑purification units, disinfectants, solar lights, tents and blankets to Colombia in response to last week’s devastating earthquake. The shipment is loading at Beijing Capital International Airport around 5:00 p. m.
GMT on Monday and will fly to Bogotá. The Chinese Embassy will coordinate with Colombian authorities to distribute the supplies to affected communities. The aid is expected to arrive in Bogotá by midday Tuesday local time, marking one week since the quake.
This first batch aims to provide immediate relief to those impacted by the disaster.
